The Fourth of July is a time of celebration all across the country and Myrtle Beach is no exception. Whether you have come to the beach to celebrate with us or are a local getting ready for the festivities, there is no shortage of family fun for the Fourth of July in Myrtle Beach this year. Find your favorite location along the strand enjoy yourself!
BROADWAY AT THE BEACH: Broadway at the Beach, which is located between 21st and 29th avenues North on U.S. 17 Bypass, will have fireworks starting at 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013, over Lake Broadway. Broadway at the Beach also has an amazing fireworks display every Tuesday through Sept. 6 at 10:00 p.m.
THE MARKET COMMON: The Market Common will have lots going on this 4th of July. The 4th Annual Independance Race 8k and 5k begins at 7 a.m. You can come on out and support or join over 800 runners on Independence Day. There will also be a 1 mile kid run which will take place at the end before the awards.
CROISSANTS BISTRO AND BAKERY: Located at 3751 Robert Grissom Parkway in Myrtle Beach, Croissants Bistro and Bakery will host their 2nd Annual 4th of July Cupcake Eating Contest from 3pm to 5 pm. If you want to take a shot at being crowned "Cupcake Champion" of the Grand Strand, there are still a few spots left!
MYRTLE BEACH SPEEDWAY: Located at 455 Hospitality Lane in Myrtle Beach, come out and and enjoy a 100 Lap Feature Race with NASCAR Whelen All American Series Late Models. The grandstands open at 5pm, practice starts at 5:30pm, and the feature race starts at 8pm. NASCAR Late Models, Charger Race, Mini Stock Race & Massive Fireworks Display.
BAREFOOT LANDING: Barefoot Landing located at 4898 Highway 17 S. will host a beautiful fireworks display over the lake at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, July, 4, 2013
CHERRY GROVE PIER: Located at 3500 N. Ocean Blvd., Fireworks display will begin around 9 or 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, 2013.
MURRELLS INLET MARSH WALK AND VETERANS PIER: The 30th annual boat parade begins at 5:00 pm (high tide) on the Fourth of July, beginning at the Garden City point. The fireworks display will begin at 10:00 pm at the end of the Veterans Pier. Don't miss out on this annual Inlet patriotic tradition! The parade will travel to the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk and then follow the Murrells Inlet shoreline down to the Hot Fish Club. Best public viewing points are the Marshwalk, Belin Methodist Church, Nance's Restaurant, Captain Poo's Restaurant and the Hot Fish Club.
GARDEN CITY GOLF CART PARADE: The Garden City Golf Cart Parade will take place on the 4th of July at Highway 17 Business and Calhoun Street in Garden City. Line-up begins at 2 p.m. Parade starts at 3 p.m. Hundreds of patriotically decorated golf carts will parade through Garden City Beach. Fun for all ages.
The Surfside Beach 4th of July Celebration will be held at Surfside Drive and Ocean Boulevard. Fireworks with live entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, July 4, 2013.
