Notre Dame's Everett Golson

Posted By Lindsay Faircloth @ Jan 8th 2013 10:05am In: About Myrtle Beach

Last night we watched one of our own, Myrtle Beach's Everett Golson, fight hard for Notre Dame against Alabama's Crimson Tide. Though Notre Dame came out defeated, we couldn't be more proud of Everett Golson. A graduate of Myrtle Beach High School, Everett Golson is an accomplished musician on both the drums and the keyboard but that is not what he is known for. He is the starting quarterback for Notre Dame's Fighting Irish.

Golson threw 151 career touchdown passes leading to AAA state titles on 2008 and 2010. Though Golson had originally committed to North Carolina, he ultimately ended up with the crowned jewel of the north, Notre Dame.

While at Notre Dame, Golson won the starting quarterback position over Tommy Rees in 2012 and led the Fighting Irish to an undefeated 12-0 regular season. It was the first #1 ranking in the NP Poll since 1993 and the very first #1 ranking in BCS standings! Golson led his team to victories over Michigan State, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan and Standford and finished his season with 2135 yards passing and 11 touchdowns. Though the victory over Alabama last night did not take place, Everett Golson is victorious in the hearts of his Myrtle Beach fans. We are very proud and honored to have such a well respected, accomplished, athlete on the road to a very bright and blessed future!
