Tomorrow is election day and everyone is geared up and ready to go out and cast their votes! Prudential Myrtle Beach Real Estate's very own Broker in Charge is also ready for election. Marvin Heyd is running for County Council in Horry County's District 6.

Marvin served on Horry County Council for two years serving an unexpired term for County Councilman Terry Chambers. During his term Marvin had many accomplishments which include;

  • Assisted with the construction of the Socastee Recreational Park
  • Assisted with the construction of the Socastee Library
  • Assisted with the construction of the Horry County Governmental & Judicial Building
  • Instrumental in implementing the first Tree Ordinance in Horry County
  • Instrumental in implementing the first Storm Water Ordinance Plan
  • Instrumental with the start up of the GIS Department
  • Instrumental in strengthening the IT Department
  • Assisted County Councilman Terry Copper with funding for the South Strand Government Complex
  • Served served on the Horry County United Way Board
  • Served a commissioner on the Socastee Recreational Commission, Inc.
  • Served as the President of the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors
  • Served on the Board of Directors for the Coastal Carolinas Association of Realtors
  • Served on the Executive Board of the South Carolina Association of Realtors
  • Served on numerous Habitat For Humanity Builds
  • Currently serving as the Chairman for the Waccamaw Workforce Investment Board for Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties.
